My daughter, Amber, has suffered from depression and anxiety since her late teens. By the time she was 34 years old, she was on five different medications; she felt like a zombie. Her doctor tried a new treatment of Ketamine infusions; she had the maximum infusions of 5, but after these treatments, she developed all-over body pain and was still very depressed with no relief. Even though she continued to see doctors and a psychiatrist, nothing helped with her pain, and after having two children, her mental status worsened, and her pain worsened.
Then, she tried THC from a store, and she said it helped her pain, so she started consuming THC a lot in the forms of chewables, vapes, and whatever she could get. But then she started acting really psychotic, and was admitted to two different psychiatric facilities, only for a few days each time. One day, she was very psychotic, which led to her arrest, and her husband got a protection order against her. She then voluntarily went to a state mental facility for 4 months.
When she got out, she moved in with my husband and me. She was doing well, trying to do what the protection order said, but was very depressed and sad. She was diagnosed with bipolar and borderline schizophrenia. I was unaware at first that she was using THC again; she admitted to getting it from stores and online this time.
Her mental status continued to decline; she had full psychosis and paranoia. I went to the ER several times with her and spoke with several doctors, but nobody was able to help. Eventually, she had several run-ins with the law. She broke into her own home and took the kids. She was going to bring them to my house, but cops caught her and arrested her for numerous felony charges.
I pray and hope someone will help my 38-year-old daughter; her husband has given up on her and wants a divorce. I could go into more detail about everything, but I was trying to summarize what THC has done to my daughter and our family.
Thank you for reading my story. God Bless You All.
Sincerely,
Bebe McGriff
