“Hope for the New Era of Commercial Marijuana” presentation equips participants with clear, evidence-based insights into today’s commercial marijuana landscape, emphasizing how modern products differ significantly from those of the past in potency, accessibility, and public health impact. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how highly concentrated THC products are now widely available and how these changes influence mental health, safety, and community well-being.

The session also explores the intersection of current state and federal marijuana policies with public health outcomes. It highlights how regulatory frameworks, while intended to control access, can unintentionally contribute to increased availability of high-potency products and sustain black market activity. Participants will leave with a more nuanced understanding of how policy decisions affect youth exposure, addiction risk, and broader societal consequences.

In addition, the presentation introduces the work of Every Brain Matters, focusing on practical resources designed to support families navigating the challenges of today’s marijuana environment. Attendees will learn about tools for prevention, early intervention, and recovery, as well as opportunities to engage in advocacy efforts that promote safer communities and informed policymaking.

By the end of the session, participants will feel empowered with knowledge, resources, and actionable pathways to support individuals and families, contribute to community awareness, and advocate for responsible policies that prioritize brain health and public safety.

“My Child Is Using Marijuana—Now What?” is an educational and empowering presentation designed to help parents and families navigate the challenges of youth marijuana use. Led by Aubree Adams, a director, advocate, and parent, the session shares a personal story of how marijuana impacted her family and community, and how that experience led to her work supporting youth in recovery.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of today’s commercial marijuana products and how they differ from those in the past, as well as learn about the potential short- and long-term effects on youth, including Cannabis Use Disorder, cannabis-induced psychosis, and Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS).

The presentation also focuses on practical guidance—helping families identify effective support options and resources for both their child and the entire family. By the end, attendees will feel informed, supported, and equipped with clear, actionable steps to take if their child is using marijuana.
