Janelle Martin is a married mother of two children from Magnolia, Texas. She started her company, The Mind Connection, in 2021 with the mission to improve her clients’ mental, emotional, and physical health. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), trained in Brainspotting, and currently working on her Masters’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lamar University.
Janelle’s daughter, Regan, went to treatment at 17 years old due to severe drug addiction that began with marijuana. Through the help of treatment and a comprehensive family recovery program, Regan has maintained her sobriety for four years and created a purposeful life for herself.
Janelle’s personal experience with substance use and how the disease of addiction affects the family is her reason for becoming actively involved in the recovery community. She facilitates weekly PAL (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones) meetings and sponsors other parents as part of her personal 12-step recovery program.
