CBD has not been Approved

The notice came through email blasts from HempWorx that CBD oil is “approved.” Approved by who or what? Certainly not the FDA. Perhaps the Las Vegas Company promoter that published the blast claiming the product is approved, is a lie. So we checked.  FDA Commissioner, Scott Gottlieb, MD, issued a statement June 24, 2018, that one form of CBD has been approved. That approval is for one specific CBD medication for a specific use. No approval has come for all other brands or other uses. “Wellgrade” claims they have a “FDA Registered Facility.” Such registration is required for re-packing or re-labeling animal drug products and has nothing to do with FDA approval for human consumption. Such claim is misleading.

Still, there are members of the CBD multi-level groups operating in Montcalm County, showing up at Farmer’s Markets and celebrations with personal testimonials. Remember, the FDA did test 150 sources of CBD and found half of it to be olive oil.  The question then; what are you buying?

The top ten MLM-CBD companies are: Kannawa, Hemp Herbals, HempWorx, Dose of Nature, Bocannaco, Zilis, Prime my Body, Isodiol, First Fitness Nutrition and Changing the Future Outcome. In the midst of these get-rich-quick plans there is no evidence of medicinal value, only individuals and companies seeking millions from rumor and antidotes (small stories).  Still, Wellgrade advertises on Amazon, “The hemp extract contains essential fatty acids that have profound effect on health, including better brain function, joint mobility and other benefits.” You don’t need CBD for fatty acids, consume fruits, vegetable oils (including olive oil), seeds, nuts, animal fats and fish oils, all of which are great sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Claims by cure-all substances producers cannot be verified. Approved pharmaceuticals are suspect. One doctor told us, “A prescription may work 25-percent of the time.” We have no idea how effective CBD oil might be.

Michigan appears to be where Oregon and Washington State were a short time ago. Oregon has a seven-year supply of hemp/marijuana-related products if they never planted another seed. Topping that, the Security and Exchange Commission sent legal documents to CuraLeaf, one of the nation’s top CBD producers, ordering them to stop their claims of positive effects they were using to sell stock.

Canada has legalized just about everything marijuana, or as the industry now prefers to call it, “cannabis.” In light of the legalization, a set of warnings are to be released to Canadian citizens after the next election October 17th. Here are just some of the warnings AFTER voters have a chance to change their minds. These warnings were given to Parliament in 2012 before passing Bill 45. You’re welcome to check their website: www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs.

Warnings are: Cannabis smoke is harmful. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not drive or operate machinery after using cannabis. (More than 4,000 Canadians were injured and 75 died from driving after using cannabis in 2012—before legalization.) Cannabis can be addictive (up to 1 in 2 people who use cannabis daily will become addicted). Regular use of cannabis can increase risk of psychosis and schizophrenia. …and there’s more.

The information from Canada’s Government has not been released to their public. We obtained the information through Herschel Baker, the Director for Drug Free Australia and International Liaison Director.

The Washington Post published an article reading, “Justin Trudeau’s legalization of pot is a giant fraud.” Search it on their website if you like.

Still, Michigan continues to go along with the legalization as if it’s no big deal. Consider these questions: What other medication is approved by voters or a legislature? How is it a “state’s right” to approve a drug around the FDA, even CBD oil? What other medicine do you smoke? How much THC, with irreversible consequences, is in the more expensive brands of CBD? What other “powerful medicine” (their claim) can you buy at the local gasoline station or movie-rental store? Do you care if the high priced CBD is only olive oil? What other “powerful medicine” is sold through multi-level marketing schemes? Is the FDA right about all other medications and wrong about cannabis products?

An emergency-room doctor in Colorado wrote this reporter recently to advise how CBD oil is processed through the liver. The damage is likely to be permanent. It’s in the liver where a thousand other chemicals, dangerous to use with cannabis, are processed.  These “fatty acids” as Wellgrade promotes, is stored in fat cells where it stays for days.

After seven (and there may be more) recent deaths and hundreds of injuries from vaping devices, there is no call to take these devices off the market, even temporarily. Remember when all romaine lettuce was pulled from the shelves across the nation due to 32 people becoming sick from eating the stuff? Of those, 13 had been hospitalized with one suffering from kidney damage. Who is behind keeping the likes of JUUL and others on the market? Can you condone vaping by a young parent when ½ teaspoon of liquid nicotine will kill a toddler? One JUUL “pod” contains as much nicotine as a pack or more of cigarettes.
